Thank you for your update. It seems that the problem is complicated and
need some time to troubleshoot it.
As for the error message like the one you encountered, from my experience,
it is a general one and may factors might cause it. The information is
somewhat not so accurate that in some cases, even all operation is executed
locally. From the information provided, there is possiblly a database
damage and we should trouble shoot it step by step to narrow down it. Hope
you could understand it.
As for the SQL Server 2000 work on the Server A, since you could not do
restore the backups on it. I think you should run DBCC CHECKDB one all the
database espacially on the databaser 'dtpath' database. So that we could
make sure that the backups from Server A is good. It is better to restored
the backup of 'dtpath' to another SQL Server (just create a new one and
restore from the backup). If no SQL Server is available, create a new
database with another name and restore it from the backup is an approach.
