Reydeval,
For some bizarre reason, Query Analyzer uses ODBC for its connections.
I would suspect that the embedded semicolon is wreaking havoc with the
internally-generated Connection String.
I tried the following (a standard ODBC workaround):
wrap the password in curly braces { }
It's a pain in the arse, but I tried it and it worked with Query Analyzer
and an embedded semicolon.

Hi,
I am having some problems with passwords including special
characters like ';' on SQLServer. I can change an userīs
password to ';', by Enterprise Manager, but the user canīt
log on Query Analyzer. The SQLServer shows a
message: "Login failed for user:...". I saw on BOL that we
can use any character including numbers, letters or
simbols to be a password. Anybody knows a list of
characters that I canīt use on passwords?
Thanks,
