Re: Replication Failures - Distrib.exe Application Error

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi Tony,
I understand that you wanted to implement Peer-to-Peer replication for a
large of databases in your SQL Server 2005.
If I have misunderstood, please let me know.

For further research, I recommend that you first mail me
(changliw_at_microsoft_dot_com) your SQL error logs
(%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\LOG).

I have not found a known limitation regarding the number of replicated
databases. Currently I think that this issue may be caused by lack of some
resource on your either of your two nodes. I recommend that you use
replication monitor to monitor your replication to see if there is any
performance pressure. You may refer to:
Monitoring Performance with Replication Monitor
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms152768.aspx

Also you can use System Monitor (perfmon.exe) on your two nodes to monitor
your system performance at that time. You can refer to:
Monitoring Resource Usage (System Monitor)
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191246.aspx
Monitoring Replication with System Monitor
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms151754.aspx

Of course you can also mail me the trace files to me if they are not large
after compressed. If they are large, I recommend that you also send me an
email so that I can request a web work space for your uploading the files.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let me
know. It is my pleasure to be of assistance.

Best regards,
Charles Wang
