Regarding the error 208, it represents "object not found". For example, if
you try to select from a table that does not exist, the error 208 is raised
to the client. From my research, I found this KB article talking about the
error 208:

From the error message, I noticed that the distributor of your SQL Server
2000 instance was original version without a service pack. Since I do not
know of Italian language, I could not assure that if this issue was the
known issue that KB article referred to, however I recommend that you first
install the latest SQL Server 2000 service pack to eliminate any known
issues. You can download the latest version of service pack at this link:

If the above suggestions are not helpful, I recommend that you have a new
post at Italian newsgroup for wider audience or you may make a call to your
local CSS for getting more dedicated support.
