Re: transaction replication, MSDTC, 1722 - (The RPC server is unav

I really din't understand what you just wrote in your reply about the IIRC
this error is erroneous. Also, I can't generate transactions on the
subscriber because the database being replicated from DEVFRANCIS ins't
appearing on ECTESTING.

I'm thinking the error has something to do a process(either SQLSERVERAGENT
or MSSQLSERVER) not being able to start msdtc.exe on either DEVFRANCIS or
ECTESTING. What permissions are required, and how do you set them for the
publisher/distributer (DEVFRANCIS) running windows XP, and the subscriber
(ECTESTING) running windows 2000 server.

I've been looking around and found a utility called dcomcnfg to set the
permissions of msdtc but the GUI for the utility is very different if it is
run from XP or windows 2000 server. Would this approache work?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated thank you.
