Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection....

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I'm getting the following error when trying to set up replication between 2
servers (the error occurs on the master when I try to run some stored procs).
Both servers are linked as "Remote Servers":

Login failed for user 'xxxx'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL
Server connection.

The thing is, both servers are enabled for SQL and Windows authentication
and i can log into both servers as user 'xxxx' using SQL Query analyser fine.

Any ideas what could be wrong?
