Relax! I have used this administrative share many times without problem on
win2k professional - at least I think this is what you are talking about. I
think you mean
\\Q3M6N4\c$\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Repldata, or perhaps its
\\Q3M6N4\c$\Repl

I am assuming the 4 in c4 is a typo.

There is a problem with using win2k in a workgroup as there is a 5
connection limit which you will likely run into when you try to run your
snapshot or distribution agent.

The poster who claimed you must be running server os, is referring to the
fact that server os's offer better performance, but you are free to use the
professional/workstation versions. In fact many companies deploy
subscriptions to their clients running workstation/professional or
WinCE/PocketPC.

Ignore the message SQL Server throws up as well. Basically it is telling you
that if you are doing a pull subscription, the SQL Server agent on the
subscriber may not be able to access the c$ administrative share on the
publisher.

I hope this answers you quest.
