ideally yes, but you can get away with different service pack levels in most
cases. If you call up Microsoft PSS, in my experience they are not willing
to help you, unless all servers are at the same sp. This was my experience
several years ago, they might have change their policy since then.
If it is a problem create your publication for heterogeneous subscribers.
