I have been trying to use xp_cmdshell with little success.
I have setup a proxy account. The command creates a text file that is able
to be placed on the local hard drive of the server. However, it fails to
put it on a networked drive. The proxy account has access to the networked
drive.
The only thing that I can think of that is left is that the proxy account is
the same account as the sql server login. I don't know if this might be
causing the problem. Also, maybe the proxy account isn't a "true" proxy
account. Does anyone know how I can check to ensure this account is a true
proxy account? I am not a network admin and don't have anyone here whose
responsibility is to check these things. However, the account that I did
setup as the proxy account does have rights to the network location and the
command does run successfully if it outputed to the local hard drive.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you
