I sure hope this is a common question with a common
answer...
I have a SQL database that the users interact with using a
VB application. They are able to build and run their own
queries all day. We have noticed that a query they may
run in the morning returns in seconds, but the same query
against the same data ran in the afternoon hangs up or
returns in minutes.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this?
They can also make updates, and the auto-update/create
statistics is enabled on the server. I'm not a hardware
person, but according to the Network Administrator, there
are no issues regarding traffic or hardware.
I hope someone can help, I'm desperate...
Thank you!
