I found that after I used sp_addrolemember in an application and checked the login to make sure it had the appropriate role I received error 21176. The login did not have access to the appropriate role. The only thing I had to do was close enterprise manager and open it again and I did not receive the error. Furthermore, the login did have the appropriate role associated to it. Is there an update for enterprise manager anywhere?
