how to add a new MG on a fact table that is already used

A recommendation from MSFT is
Do put each distinct count measure into a separate measure group
(

olapdbpssas2005.mspx)
However if in BIDS I want to make a seperate MG on the fact table I
have to select a table from a list. Tables already used are excluded.
How can I make a seperate MG for the distinct count measure?
Do I have to edit the xml?
Hopefully somebody has another idea!
Thanks, Paul
