Backup takes a read-lock on objects in the database. So processing etc. will
be blocked from committing until the backup is completed. The backup
contents will be based on the state when it acquired the locks at the
beginning...
Thanks,
Akshai

I have a question about SSAS2005 backups.
If a backup is initiated at 2:00AM and finishes at 4:15AM, when is the
backup current as of? Going under the assumption that processing (new
partitions) and dimensional updates are going on at the same time of the
backup.
Thanks!
