Hi,
I experience the exact same problem with Reporting Server 2005 using
Analysis Server 2005 as a data source.
This issue was also addressed by another poster (JasonF) on Jan. 8th.
Here is his original message:

I am trying to create a report in SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services
using an Analysis Server 2005 database as my Data Source. There are a
couple of issues that are happening. First after I build my query and
run a preview of the report the query is not saved when I got back into
the data tab.
Then when I try to re-create the query and go back in the preview tab VS
2005 shuts down with a fatal error.

Is there any news on the status of this issue?

Hi,.
Any idea why you can't first open a Reporting Services report and then
a XMLA OLAP report based on SQL Server 2005. No data available in the
OLAP report.
If you first open a XMLA OLAP Report and than Reporting Services report
you see both data in the report. But opening again a XMLA OLAP Report
ends with no data.
A bug in SQL Server 2005 or should a setting be changed ?
