Project REAL webcast

For those who haven't heard of Project REAL, this is a new effort being done
by Microsoft to put a multi-terabyte system into production with SQL Server
2005. We will be using this system as a basis for many of the best practices
being developed with the full range of BI technologies, e.g. Integration
Services, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Data Mining, etc. We will
be conducting a three-part webcast series on Project REAL and our findings
so far; with lots of tips, tricks and pitfalls to avoid. Learn what we've
learned.

Part 1:

Project REAL uses large volumes of actual data and scenarios from real
companies to implement Business Intelligence (BI) systems using early
releases of Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Throughout the process, we identify
best practices and uncover potential issues that you are likely to encounter
in your own BI implementation. This webcast will focus on our reference
implementation and lay out the overall system design. We also outline the
business scenarios and profile the data we are using in the project. Part
two of this series (Jun 2nd) will build upon these ideas and incorporate the
use of data engines and analytics - all of the back room activities. Part
three (Jun 15th) will close the series with details on front room activities
such as client software, the logical Analysis Services design, Reporting
Services, etc..

We are doing an introductory webcast tomorrow Thurs morning 26 May, at
9:30am PST.
