Connection String Problem

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

We are running SQL Server 2000 Enterprise edition with Analysis Services. On
top of it we're using OutlookSoft (Everest) to query the data.

A strange issue occured in that Registry's two keys
(RemoteRepositoryConnectionString and Repository Connection String) have
ceased functioning. Therefore, the Analysis Server cannot use that value to
connect.

If I go into the Analysis Server Manager and right click on connection
string I can manually put in the value and connect to the cube.
Unfortunately, that value does not stick and does not update the registry.
I've tried to modify the registry key with the exact same text that works in
Analysis Manager but it will not connect.

This has created a situation where the application (Everest) cannot use the
Registry Key to sucessfully connect and it will therefore not work.

Any ideas on how to correct this? A very frustrating situation. If I
cannot recover I imagine I'll have to reinstall everything.

Thanks for any ideas!!!
