1. Yes writeback is supported but there are some issues. Both simple "what
if analysis" and the possibility to save writeback records in the writeback
table is supported. Issues: There is the possibility that users can use
writeback on a high level in a dimension. This will result in a lot of
allocated records beeing created at the lowest level in the dimension tree.
What I am saying is that this is a raw capability and you might have to add
features to make it work the way you want.
2. You have both a thin web client and an ActiveX-based in the Analytics
Server. There is also a new Dashboard server. ProClarity is also working on
a reporting services add in where you can use the ProClarity professional UI
to create reports from Analysis services.
3. The new add in for reporting services connects Analysis services with the
output formats supported in reporting services. From ProClarity
Professional(windows client) you can also link views to Excel with Business
Reporter.
4. Yes, all these features are supported. Have a look at two other add-ins
for the windows client, the new KPI-builder(construct measures) and
Selector(build named sets).
ProClarity is strong in the visual tools(perspective, decomposition tree)
but a little bit to weak in the formating capabilities if you do not export
to Excel. It is not possible to link reports in excel, the way you can do
with other applications like IntelligentApps. This is required if you would
like to have columns like
ActualAccumulatedYear2004-Actual/BudgetLastMonth-ForecastBudget´Reamining200
4 on the columns in a report. You will have to construct all this with
calculated members and named sets. But all products have some limits.
Decomposition tree and perspective are the strong tools that usually make
customers consider ProClarity.
