At first, thanks for you answer,

On the server side.I have already installed sp3 for Analysis services.

I have created a website with a virtual directory called olap_test in which

the file msolap.asp is.

(In the tutorial, it is notice that we have to put this file in the

directory used for the publication of web files)

On the client side.

The connection problem message is

"

Impossible to open the connection.

The feature of connection HTTP or HTTPS is available only with Analysis

Services for SQL Server 2000 Company Edition. The server to whom you try to

connect is not a server Company Edition.

"

this message appears on all client post i have tried

I have made a word file to present you the way i do to make the connection.

thanks.

Alex

  Hey
Standart edition should not be the problem.
Can you be more specific about the connection problem?
What error massage do you get?
Does it happen from a specific client machine?
Any way I would start by checking the olap data source provider you use from excel.
Is it ole db for olap 8 or the former one (ole db for olap)?
In case it is not version 8 and this one is not available on your client's machine,
you need to install it there by running the latest mdac version available from Microsoft's site
(it is also included in the ptsfull package on the Analysis services installation disk).
Also make sure you have sp3 installed for Analysis services.

    Hi,

I have created a cube using SQL SERVER 2000 Standard Edition.
I would like to consult it by using Excel on a client computer.
I have read the SQLSERVER 2000 tutorial from the Analysis services module.

I use a dynamic crossed table on Excel.
But I meet some problems during the connection to the cube on the server.

Maybe it's a problem of version.
Can i connect an OLAP cube to Excel with the Standard Edition of SQL SERVER ??

If anybody is able to help me to display my cube on Excel, i'm very interesting.

    Thanks in advanced

    Alex
