ERROR [42S02] [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Inval

I loaded Sql Server 2005 and then SP3 (also have sql Server 2000 on this
machine). An asp.net project I am working on works find on my other machine
which has Sql Server 2005 SP2 (with Sql Server 2000 SP4), but on this new
machine (both winXP Pro SP3) the asp.net configuration Web Site
Administration Tool gave me this error when I tried to select Create/Manage
Roles

Any suggestions appreciated what I could do to fix this - hopefully I don't
have to reload Sql Server 2005 with SP2.
