I installed "SQL 2005 Express with Advanced Services with SP1" onto two machines with "Windows XP Pro SP2".
On both computers I noticed that in SSMS Express, under "Server Objects" -> "Linked Servers" -> "Providers", the list of providers installed is empty!!!!
I tried to connect to two ODBC sources (with DSN) and an OLE DB one, but always received the "Message 7302" error ("Unable to create instance for OLE DB....").
As suggested by MCP Luca Bovo, I tried to reinstall "workstation components" (which include libraries for connecting external resources), but unfortunately it didn't solve.
Can you suggest me a solution?
