Thanks for replying. It is greatly appreciated. Here is a list of versions:
- sql server 7.0 sp3 in mixed mode running on a windows 2000 server sp3
- windows xp pro sp2
- mdac 2.8 - ran the mdac checker and everything is fine
- access 2002 sp3

We have a number of Access applications, using sql as the backend. Before
we did the latest SP2, everything worked fine. We could do mods to the
access database, and reconnect to the sql server using odbc - dsn connection.
Now when we make mods to the database, reconnect, then we get that error. I
can uncheck the trusted connection box, type in the user name and password
and get into the database, but this doesn't flow with end users, who need
that automatci connection to the database. I am saving the database as
either an mdb or mde, and in either case, it still errors out.

I have searched the web and found many threads with this error and similiar
situation, but no concrete resolutions. I also have a case opened with
Microsoft, two weeks old now and they are still working on it.

Hope this helps.
