Service Broker also works well as a job scheduler and is available in SQL Express:

It appears that SQL 2005 Express has removed the SQL Agent. Is this true? Or, am I simply missing something obvious? If not there, does anyone know the minimum version of SQL 2005 which enables job scheduling?
