MSDE using SSL...

Greetings. I've installed MSDE for use with a C# application, and am trying
to enable encryption across the connection... I am now unable to start the
service, as it states there are no valid certificates installed. I used
SelfSSL to generate the certificate, and followed all of the rules found in
several articles regarding this activity... am I missing something obvious?
Pre-answers to expected responses:
- Yes, I have "force protocol encryption" checked, both on client network
utility, and on the server end. Not using encryption is simply not an option
for this project.
- The certificate is in my "Personal" folder in the certificates mmc, and
has been imported into the "Trusted Certificate Authorities" folder as well.
I have no issues reinstalling MSDE, but I'd really like to be able to
resolve this by simply having a certificate that the MSDE service finds
valid.
Thanks in advance,
Hal
