What kind of messages are you getting when you attempt to register the
server?
What messages in the event log? The SQL Server log?

I am trying to setup a user to access the BEDB database that gets
created on a veritas backup exec 10.0 box so that I can pull data from
the db. From what I can gather it uses a MSDE to run the db, its
creates its own instance when the veritas software is installed and I
have tried:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;285097
which in my case was close but was already set to 2. (services have
been restarted as needed)
I have also used a full install of sql server using enterprise manager
to turn the access to mixed.
Is there any steps I am missing to create this user so I can access the
db?
