As I have said in my previous post, MSDE is designed to be distributed as a
part of applications that require a local data store. MSDE is one of the
best choice for lightweight corporate environment. Now, refer the article

However, MSDE is not designed for enterprise leve application. For
heavyweight corporate environment, we have to use SQL Server 2000 Standard
version or Enterprise version instead.
