MSDE 2000 SP3a and SBS 2003, very slow

Hi there

We install a software based on SQL (MSDE or SQL Server). The application is
developed in Delphi and connect via BDE and ODBC to the MSDE. Most of the
cases we install MSDE 2000 SP3a on the servers, so that 3 or 4 clients can
access
the DB.

We made about 150 installation till today, without problems. The last 3
installations
on a SBS 2003 standard made problems. The connection (only via ODBC, not
filesystem)
is very slow. Sometimes it takes over 2 min till the application starts
(normal is 10 sec).
If the application is started, the connection is ok a fast.

Sometimes it will be better if we reboot the server or the clients.

Is it possible, that the problem relate to the 2 instances SBSmonitoring and
sharepoint?

Any ideas?
