MSDE2000a Install Problem - HELP

I have tried to install MSDE2000a on a Win2000 machine
without any success. The setup starts fine (I use the
SAPWD= parameter) and seems to run through everything ok.
When there is 10sec or less in the install, the blue bar
starts going backwards, the timer counts to zero and all
files that were copied are removed.

I also ran the setup with the /L and /L*v options. After
reading some other postings, I looked through the log file
and found the entry 'Return Value 3' which I understand
that to be a bad thing. Directly above it is the
statement 'PerfmonLoad routine returned error code 6'. I
have pasted a portion of the log file below. Can anyone
help me with this problem? A coworker had no problem on
his XP machine.
