Recovery state of principal database after failover

Hi everyone,

I have set up a mirror configuration with 2 databases and a witness.
When I test the fail over by removing the ethernet connection of the
principal database server, the mirror database becomes the principal
database. But because the database is still in the recovery mode, the
applications that were connected to the first principal database are not
able to connect to the new principal database. Did i do something wrong
or is there a way that the database can leave the recovery state when it
is the principal database?

Thanks, Remco
