Re: Redistribution Licence Revoked for Driver v1.1?

Paul:

The terms for redistribution of the 1.0 and 1.1 driver are the same -- there
is only one link (http://msdn.microsoft.com/data/ref/jdbc/redist/eula.aspx)
and one license for both, and neither has changed.

FWIW the EULA for both drivers should be identical as well (there was a
brief period in the launch of v1.1 where the version of the license for the
1.1 driver said "August 2006" but no other text changes were authorized for
that document, and since the text is identical the version has been reverted
to "January 2006", the same as the 1.0 driver EULA page.

I will look into the specific license issue, I am sure that there is some
confusion here.

The 2005 driver v1.1 is definitely redistributable, making it
redistributable was one of the main reasons we started this project in
house.
To register for redistribution rights please take a look at.

Hope this clears up the issue.

When I originally downloaded v1.0 of the driver the licence contained a
clause headed: 2.a. Distributable Code. This seems to have been removed
from
the licence for v1.1, and new downloads of v.1.0.

Was this intentional, or deliberate. I was told back on the old 2000
version of the driver that the 2005 variant would be re-distributable.
Indeed it was, and I redistributed it. Now it seems that right has been
revoked and I can no longer re-distribute the driver with my software.

Can you please clarify the situation with respect to re-distribution?
The
v1.0 version of the driver contained a bug which I cannot work around and
is
fixed in v1.1.

Kind regards

Paul Raby
