Error:
[Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC]Error establishing socket.
After trying all from Microsoft KB 313178, I'm asking here.
Application information:
Software runs under JBOSS, and JSDK 1.4.1_02 from cmd prompt.
It works at other locations, but fails at one site.
Software is trying to access default instance of SQL Server.
No firewalls enabled.
Things tried:
We ran a non-java utility (uses socket tools) to open a connection to
the server and port 1433 OK.
Non Java database application software (using DB LIB) can connect to
the same database OK from the same machine where Java fails.
Tried replacing the server name with IP address. Fails.
Verified that TCP/IP protocol was enabled on the server from Enterprise
Manager.
I'm grasping at straws here.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Kevin
