Re: SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Advanced

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Paul,

Have you seen this training video:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/3/8/b3847275-2bea-440a-8e2e-305b009bb261/sql_13.wmv

This covers downloading, installing, etc. About 7 minutes in, it describes
how to enable/disable full-text indexing for a database. It is a check box
on the Database Properties / Files page.

After that, it appears that the creating of indexes is done through TSQL,
not through the studio.

Thank you for your reply.

I looked at the chart and the Express edition with Advance services has
Full Text searching. This is what I have installed but dont seem to be
able to reference it in the management studio.

Regards,
Paul.

Good Day,

I have installed SQl server 2005 edition Advance but can not see any
tree items in the management studio for Full Text searching. If I right
click on a database table I do not have an option to create an index.
Also if I right click on a database and select properties then file, the
enable full text indexing checkbox is disabled.

The service is running. Can anyone help.

Regards,
Paul.
