1) You will have to evaluate whether it is reliable enough for you. However,
it is unsupported so if you have a show stopping problem you are completely
out of luck. This alone makes many people very very very nervous about
using beta products in production. This been said when SQL 7 was in beta 3,
some companies were running it in production. I think it was 800 Flowers and
a few investment banks, but don't quote me on that. There may be licensing
problems with doing this.

2) the existing queries will work fine. But to be sure, please post them
here.

3) You would be best to DTS it over. A detach/attach will be a little
problematic due to the orphaned SQL FTS catalogs.

4) Follow Kent's advice.
