Hello John,
The write direct to a CD is not possible. It cannot be treated like a normal drive, USB will work fine though. What happens if try and do it? In Windows XP you have a CD-R in the drive, in windows Explorer you can "copy" files to the drive, although they are actually cached on disk. You then manually start the burn. Personally I woudl go for the USB option, easier, faster and probably more reliable.

Is it possible to send or copy to a writtable CD-ROM drive? I have a
customer in a remote location that is running a completely
disconnected (from the internet) environment. They gather data and
then need to get it back to the real world. The easiest way for them
to do it is to copy the data files onto a CD-ROM or thumb drive and
then ship it. I can write to any hard drive that is available but not
to a CD-ROM. Is there anyway that I can get the DTS package to write
to a CD-Rom with minimal intervention on their part?
