Data Integrity using DTS

Have some paper that talk about Data integrity ?
I am using DTS to transmit some data and I need sure about the data are ok.
I using a command line to execute a ftp on a server1 and on a server2 I
receive this data and use on it.
I listen that have a software called MD5. Do you know something about it ?
