DTS across the Internet

Can someone tell me if DTS can work over the Internet between 2
heterogeneous systems (or between 2 SQL Svr's)? I've been asked run a
package between MySQL and MS SQL 2000. So I'm not sure if this is COM or a
TCP/UDP port. My guess is or use Replication. Also, can it be done
securely?
