RE: ADSI as linked server

Hi Mike,

This is Mark, a SQL Server Engineer. I'm glad to assist you with the issue.

Regarding to the description, I know that you encountered error when
created Linked Server to
connect ADAM (Active Directory Application Mode) from SQL 2005. and based
on the current situation, the issue might be very complex.

Based on my experience, I would like you help me collect the following
information. my email address is v-fathan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx(remove
online). Once receiving your email, I would like to create a worksapce for
you so that you are able to upload the required files via that workspace.

1. Could you please tell me when the errors occurred? What related symptoms
have
you observed when the issue occurs? Do you use any cluster server? Since
the web
log you submitted about the error message has some garbage codes, could you
please
paste the text or screen shot in the email again? I appreciate your
provided more
details about the issue.

2. Also collect the SQL Server Error logs and the Agent logs along with the
Application , Security and the System Event logs saved in an EVT format,
zip and
send me.

3. Could you please provide more info about the ADAM you want to connect?
Could you
please create some screen shots about your detailed setting about SQL
Server 2000
and 2005, so that we can repro the issue on my side and move forward a
quick
solution.

If anything is unclear, please tell me. Thanks

Best regards,
Mark Han
