Re: Linked Server Connection Error: 18459

Hi Ulysses,
Thank you for your response.

Did either of your SQL Server instances run under a domain user account?
Apparently your SQL Server instances were not using Kerberos
authentication. I recommend that you first ensure that your SQL Server
Services are running under a domain user account. You can check this via
the following steps:
1. Run services.msc from command prompt;
2. Double click the SQL Server instance service;
3. Switch to the Log On tab and check if the startup account is a domain
user account.
If not, please change it to a domain user account and restart your SQL
Server instance to see if it helps.

If this issue persists, I recommend that you try deleting/re-registering
SPNs. You may also refer to this article:

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Charles Wang
