Hello Ed,
You could try the following steps to add a domain user to sql logins.
1. In SQL Management studio, select Server name->Security->Logins
2. Right click the logins->New login
3. Type "domainname\username"(without quotes) in Login name box. For
example, you domain name is test and the user name is user1, you should
type "test\user1"(without quotes)
4. Click "server roles" on left panel, and check "sysadmin" role
5. Click OK to add.
After that, please use the login in Report Manager configuration utility:
1. On Database setup panel, select "Windows credential"
2. In Account name, type "domainname\username" (without quotes), and in
password box type the password you use for this account.
3. Check Servername and database to make sure they are correct. You could
click "connect" to test.
4. Click Apply to see the result. Please let me know the error message if
you encounter any.
Please add the domain user as local admin temporarily by following steps:
1. Right click "My Computer"->Manage->Local users and groups
2. Select Groups, and double click "Administrators" group.
3. Click "Add", and type "domainname\username" (without quotes), and click
OK.
Please try to connect http://servername/reportserver to see the result. If
you still see the same error message, please check the report server log to
see if it has the same exception we noticed in previous repot server log.
Thank you for your time.
Best Regards,
Peter Yang
