RE: cannot log into Reporting Services from SMSS

Incidentally, just to clarify, Reporting Services works fine from VS 2005. I
can design and preview reports just fine. The problem is that I cannot log
into Reporting Services from SMSS. I can log into other services (e.g.
Analysis Services, Integration Services, etc.) from SMSS, just not Reporting
Services.

Please check if the IIS is properly configured in the machine. Is there a
web.config in c:\inetpub\wwwroot? There shouldn't be one. If there is one,
please temporarily move the file to another folder and run RS configuration
tool to see if it helps.
