Did you open a port in the firewall?
Did you confirm that the SQL Server Browser Service is running on the Vista computer?

Hello.
This is my first post here, and I don't know if this question has been answered before. I didn't see the answer at least in the topics I reviewed.
I have just installed SQL Server Express SP2 in a machine with Windows Vista Ultimate, but I can't connect to it with SQLCMD nor with OSQL.
I always receive a message like this (I'll translate from spanish):
"Named pipes connection provider can't open a connection to SQL Server"
I have followed the steps suggested in the Microsoft Support Site article number 914277 "How to configure SQL Server 2005 to allow remote connections", but still I receive the same messages.
Is there something else I should check in this machine ?
