Warren,
For SQL Server 2000 I ended up going with the OLE provider that is supplied
with HIS 2006. Also the current DB2 OLE Provider for SQL Server 2005 is
available with the February 2007 feature pack. Note that SQL Server 2005
Enterprise Edition is required for this provider.
Thanks for the info.

I have had many colleagues set up a UDL file with success before although I
have never done so.

As you stated below nothing is as easy as the SQL 2005 feature pack
connection though!

What is the current DB2 OLE DB Provider for SQL Server 2000 + SP4 and how
do
I get it? I need to do some linked server connectivity to DB2.
I have found the SQL Server 2005 version as part of a feature pack but I'm
uncertain about what is current for 2000.
Is the version that comes with SQL Server 2005 feature pack April 2006
backward compatible with SQL Server 2000 or do I need to use a version
supplied with HIS? If so, which version of HIS?
Thanks.
