I would post this to the ms.public.sqlserver group... but I can't say that I've heard of a session disconnect setting in SQL Server. I have seen evidence of this behavior though in years past. In some cases it was traced to a NIC timeout, network malfunction (where the ACK/NAK was not received in time), or other network issues. We generally had our connected applications "ping" the server with a query or some operation from time to time to eliminate the problem without really finding the cause.

Hello,
I am quite new to sql 2005. We have an application that was using msde. We recently moved it to sql 2005 and now we get idle sessions disconnected after about 20 minutes. I have searched the doc for answers and can't find any. Where are the session auto disconnection times set in sql?
Regards,
Randy.
