Cannot see SQL Server 2005 from SQL Server 2k EM

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I am running SQL Server 2k version 8.00 on one pc (A) on a lan,
and SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition version 9.0 on another (B).
I can see the 2k server on A from Management Studio on B
but I can't see the 2005 server from Enterprise Manager on A.
Is this a limitation or have I just done something wrong?

(I previously tried using SQL Express on B and got the same result
so I uninstalled that and installed Developer Edition instead).

Thanks in advance.
