Hello
It could be a port issue. Try telnet into SQL Server port from client
machine.
Telnet <SQL Server ip address> <Port>
Thanks

Hi
I have some VB 6 applications that work with SQL server 2000 database
located on server. The system was working very fine untill we have got
electricity problem & we had to change the server Network card.
Al though we used the same ip address for server & same name (as it
changed while installing new network card)
Now I am getting problem while I try to run the application on client,
recieving following error
Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)':
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or
access denied
However I can ping the server & server replies, from server I can ping
the client. also I can view the server in Workgroup contents.
Thanks & Regards
.
