RE: oracle linked serve error "OLE/DB provider returned an invalid schema definition" - issue status inquiry

Hi Malcolm,
From your description, I understand that:
You encountered the "OLE DB provider 'MSDASQL' returned an invalid schema
definition" error when you used Microsoft ODBC Driver for Oracle to connect
linked Oracle tables in your SQL Server queries.
You wanted to know if there was a patch released so that it could help you
resolve this open issue with MDAC / Microsoft ODBC Driver for Oracle.
If I have misunderstood, please let me know.

Unfortunately I also cannot find any internal document regarding the patch.
I am afraid that the hotfix is still unavailable now. However you can use
Oracle ODBC Driver which is developed by Oracle and can provide best
support to Oracle.
You can get it from:
Oracle ODBC Driver
http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/windows/odbc/index.html
(Click the Software on the right panel to download it.)

If you are very concerned with Microsoft ODBC Driver for Oracle, I
recommend that you give Microsoft feedback via this link and your feedbacks
will be routed to SQL team so that this issue can be fixed in the next
release of MDAC:
http://connect.microsoft.com

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let me
know. It is my pleasure to be of assistance.
