System.Data error '80131904'

Have a .net assembly, strong named, on an IIS box running Win 2000 Advanced
Server (box is in DMZ). Web site connects to a Sql Server box (not in DMZ).
The legacy asp app has no problem connecting to Sql Server, but when the dll
is invoked in the asp app, and it attempts to connect to Sql Server, a
System.Data error occurs. I have setup other similar environments in a
different network, and I have no problems.
Error:
System.Data error '80131904'
SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

Haven't been able to find much on this error code. Any help or direction
would be greatly appreciated.
