Looking at the SQL log and using network commands, I can see that the
SQL server is listening to port 1433. I can also connect locally from
the same computer via the port. What I cannot do is connect to the
server from the outside, or connect to other servers on the outside
from the server (remember, no firewall inbetween).
I've been comparing MDAC and other network components DLL versions,
and they seem to match. Are there any problems reported with the
security patch for MDAC 2.8 that anyone knows of?
