hi,
We have an sql server 2000 server. On this sql server we
have linked servers connected to Oracle servers (one is on
8i and the other is on 9i).
We discovered that
1.
linked servers using 'Oracle provider for OLE DB' won't
allow select queries to pull data from Oracle server,
2.
the linked servers using 'Microsoft OLE DB provider for
Oracle' or 'Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Driver'
won't allow batch insert (insert commands) into Oracle db
tables.
Why is that? We really wish taht we can set up just one
linked servers to do both 'select' and 'insert' with
Oracle server from our sql server.
btw, what's the difference between the two Microsoft
drivers listed above?
any help is highly appreciated.
JJ
