Installing sql 2005 cluster after uninstalling sql 2008 cluster?

Hello , I installed an SQL 2008 2-nodes cluster on windows server 2003 sp2
Successfully.
Later, it turned out the 3rd party application does not support sql 2008.
So I uninstalled it and I am now installing sql 2005 std cluster. (which is
supported)
The installation finishes successfully but........
The cluster group is not coming online , I tried many times with different
accounts and settings but the SQL server resource still won't come online.
I am wondering , does SQL 2008 modify windows and the registry in a way that
does not allow sql 2005 to be installed later....?
Should I format my 2 nodes and start fresh sql 2005 installtion?
Or should I uninstall the windows cluster and create new one?
Any help plz?
.
