2 active instances on 2 nodes at the same time SQL 2k5 Standard

I have a vendor telling me that I need the Enterprise version of SQL 2005 in
order to run an active/active cluster and that I can only run an
active/standby cluster on the standard version.
I've set up many clustered SQL servers on SQL 2000 Standards a few years ago
and never ran into any active/active or active/passive or questions.
I know I can only run 2 nodes in SQL 2k5 Standard.
Is there any reason that I can NOT run a 2 node cluster with separate but
active instances on both nodes at the SAME TIME on the Standard version of
SQL 2005?
E.G., instance A active on node 1 and instance B active on node 2 at the
same time on SQL 2005 standard?
Or do I need Enterprise level to do this?
Thanks,
Tim
